I loved reading this book on line. But I wish this "free" book was something I could download and keep and then buy for friends.
I was disappointed that this "free" book wasn't my free book.
But the sentiment is honest and real and something all cat lovers would love to have and keep as a memento of their special kitties. The artwork is lovely, the writing is simply a joy.
I would have bought this book for a very close friend who lost several cats all at once in a house fire. But I was really turned off by the parts I could look at online - why all the admonitions about copyright and "don't steal our stuff"? That is not very comforting! Lots of people write books, but they don't all feel the need to make accusations of the reader.
Author D.C. Blackbird once again expresses his talent for blending the unique with the traditional and this time gives us a vintage-scrapbook-style book we can use to memorialize a lost pet or to celebrate a new one. Great for gifting as well as for your own library, Cat Heaven Is Real is a book for every cat lover.
This book is an absolute win-win in so many ways. Any animal lover would be thrilled to know that the profits of this book will go to help rescue and adoption organizations. The book is graphically styled in a `days gone by' memorabilia look and feel, with old photos and flowers, tea-stained, torn edge paper appearance, and old-timey fonts. It is a touching memoir for one's own cat, with places to insert pictures and personalize. I also think it makes a great present for those bringing a new kitty into their lives, or those suffering the loss of one. The price is perfect. I do hope that the author will create another version for dog-lovers, woof.

Lovely if you do not mind hitting zoom and then continually enlarging. Pretty pictures, but using font of 11 instead of usual 3 and still having to zoom just to try and read the text is infuriating and totally uncalled for. Do leave half of each page blank with tiny fairy book?? In corners. A sad little pamplet used as book rip off. Money to help cats? Is the amount in porportion to the font?
Purchased too long ago to return. Buy if you do not mind being cheated.
